Title: Eve of Man
Book number one of a trilogy
Authors: Giovanna and Tom Fletcher
Publication Date: May 2018
Genres: Fiction, Science Fiction, Young-Adult, Dystopian Fiction, Romantic Fantasy
Rating (/5):  ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

About the Authors:
Giovanna and Tom Fletcher are two married authors. They have two boys, Buzz and Buddy and are currently expecting their third child. I have previously reviewed a couple of Giovanna's previous novels but never a Tom Fletcher novel. You may also know Tom Fletcher as being part of the popular band, McFly. Both, Giovanna and Tom, have youtube channels which you can find by clicking their names.

The Blurb:
"All her life Eve has been kept away from the opposite sex. Kept from the truth of her past.

But at sixteen it's time for Eve to face her destiny. Three potential males have been selected for her. The future of humanity is in her hands. She's always accepted her fate.

Until she meets Bram.

Eve wants control over her life. She wants freedom."

The Plot:
Before Eve was born, there had not been a girl born in fifty years. Civilisation is nearing the end and Eve is the only way to save the human race from dying out. Eve has been kept away and looked after, away from most of the world. Apart from the mothers, a group of ladies, whose duty is to care and look after Eve. Eve is now old enough to become a mother and three potential boys have been set out for her, to maybe become the father. There are a lot of secrets and lies to be found out. Eve then meets Bram. Bram finds out about these lies and secrets and feels the need to do something about it and to tell Eve. That is all I can really say without giving anything away and I'm not about to ruin the book in case you want to potentially read it.

Review:
Before reading this book, I was quite hesitant. Initially, I didn't know how well the book would flow, knowing that both the authors had written the perspective of different characters. I didn't quite know how well both writing styles would compare and if they would go together in one novel. However, after reading the two characters chapters, I was pleasantly surprised with how well the book flowed and I didn't actually feel like I noticed a difference and if I didn't know both authors had written from the perspective of two different characters then I would've never have guessed.
As a fan of more romance and drama, thriller novels, I didn't know if I would like the genre and storyline of the novel due to being a quirky storyline and would probably never happen in life. I quite like real novels where the storyline could almost seem like it is a true story. Once I started reading the book, I knew straight away I was going to become addicted. I really can truly read most genres as long as they are fiction. Fun fact, I hate biographies!
I would highly recommend this book to young adults, from the ages around 14-24, obviously, you can read any book no matter what age you are but this is the age range I would recommend it for. For a teenage girl growing up, I feel like every girl can relate to Eve in a way even though no one lives in the same circumstances as Eve. No matter what gender, I believe both males and females can read this novel.
The start of the novel I would say is a little slow, as it is mainly telling you Eve's background, why she is kept hidden from the rest of the world and allowing the reader to get to know the characters. However, once the action kicks in, in the second half that is when I became obsessed and could not put the book down. I am excited to read the next two books of the trilogy as they should just be full of action from what I expect, as the second half of this book.
Overall, I do think they did the storyline justice. I cannot wait for the second book of the trilogy. I need to know more, what happens. I highly recommend giving it a read.
